Amy Longo grew up in the small town of Oakwood, Ohio and always had a thing for bright, sparkling clothing. So it was no surprise that she had a tendency to stand out in a crowd.
After high school, Amy attended the University of Cincinnati's nationally ranked DAAP program majoring in Fashion Design. While in school, Amy had the opportunity to intern in the Big Apple. With the help of some flashy punk kids and her hipster roommates, she quickly found a home in the extravagant party scene of the East Village and Lower East Side. It was here that Amy found her niche in the fashion world, by designing party clothes to get you noticed in the dingy basements of downtown New York.
She went on to intern with club kids Heatherette and the queen of the sequin herself, Betsey Johnson, before completing her senior year at UC. Her senior collection was a tribute to the downtown party scene and infused with inspiration from the characters of "Alice in Wonderland." At the finale show, her classmates dubbed her the Glitter Queen. A perfect description for her obsession with shiny fabric and Swarovski Crystals.
Upon college graduation, Amy packed up her piles sparkly clothes and moved to a tiny apartment in Brooklyn, NY to peruse her fashion dream. She has worked with several corporate design companies to continue to gain knowledge about the fashion industry. In 2009, she felt it was time to begin working on her own brand. In 2011, Amy moved back to her roots of Dayton, Ohio to devote her life full time to her brand. She is still inspired by the downtown party scene girl and has taken her as a muse to expand her collection.
